ECHA: 19 additional COVID cases reported since July 13

Report includes 1 additional death

The Escambia County Healthcare Authority announced July 20 that 1,690 cases of COVID-19 have been reported out of its two hospitals.

The latest number is an increase of 19 cases since the July 13 report. The ECHA releases its COVID-19 report every Tuesday.

According to a release, 987 (plus 10) cases have been reported out of Atmore Community Hospital, and 703 (plus nine) from D.W. McMillan Memorial in Brewton since the last update.

At ACH, 4,957 specimens have been collected, 3,919 have been negative with zero pending and 48 inconclusive.

At DWM, 4,671 specimens have been collected with 3,936 negative results, zero pending and 32 inconclusive.

According to the Alabama Department of Public Health, 4,119 confirmed cases have been reported out of Escambia County. Some 733 specimens have been collected over the last 14 days.

Eighty-two people have died in the county. This is one additional death since the July 13 report.

The numbers are updated biweekly to help reflect current case numbers from the ECHA. Due to the timing of the informatin, the numbers may differe from the numbers on the ADPH’s website.

Confirmed cases are recorded by public health officials in the patient’s county of residence.
