As soon as it began, the dawn of a new week appeared and brings with it new things for Atmore.

Starbucks, the popular nationwide coffee chain, opened its newest branch at Wind Creek Hotel and Casino on Monday.

Getting up early, I decided not to enjoy my morning coffee until I got to the new coffee shop.

When I entered the new establishment, I was immediately impressed by the design. Atmore’s Triptek Construction LLC built the shop from the ground up.

At first glance, I noticed how spacious the front of the shop is, and it fits the Starbucks brand quite well.

Taking pictures, I kept myself busy and tried to make mental notes of what I had seen.

One of the more memorable scenes was that of Manager Shantisha Hansberry and Corporate Trainer Leo Ferreia showing the new employees the ropes on the point of sale system.

The employees looked excited to be there. I could tell by the warm greeting we received upon entering the establishment.

After a short time passed, we gathered for the ribbon cutting and it went smoothly. Wind Creek Property Manager Tim Ramer and Hansberry said a few words of thanks.

A snip of the scissors, and the store was declared open for business.

Later in the morning, Brewton Standard Editor Lisa Tindell emailed me to ask for the ribbon cutting picture I took for our newspaper in Brewton.

She asked me if I got some coffee while at the event.

I told her I selected the cold brew, and at that point probably needed some more.

Tindell encouraged me to go back and get some more.

I will.
