Clarence Matthews R., was born on April 25, 1943, to the late Willie and Georgia Mae Matthews in Wilcox County.

He attended the Escambia County Training School, and retired from Monsanto in 1991.

Clarence was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Leola Matthews Brazzell and Cora Matthews; brother, Robert Matthews; uncle, Daniel Dortch; and nephew, Sonny Matthews.

His memories will be forever cherished by his faithful, loving and devoted wife, Lucille Hubert Matthews; children, JoAnn (Don) Jefferson, Willie Charles Johnson, Ricky (Heidi) Parker Sr. of Houston, Texas, Michael (Tonia) Parker of San Antonio, Texas, Gloria (Jerry) Williams of Frisco City, Cynthia Matthews of Atlanta, Ga., Toni Matthews of San Antonio, Ulandor (Tanisha) Hubert of Huntsville, Clarence Matthews Jr. of Atlanta, Angela (Donald) White of Madison, Tyron Matthews of Atmore, Vandor Matthews of Atmore, Davion Matthews of Atmore; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other family members, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Interment was held in Fairview Cemetery in Atmore with final arrangements entrusted to Christian Memorial Funeral Home.
