My best friend Kendra Majors, sent me a reminder of a quote I said some nine years ago.

The reminder said the following: Favorite quote of the day: Andrew Chandler Frazier Garner (tagged on Facebook) I remember when we had to get vaccinated for measles and they check (us) for osteoporosis. Me: Don’t you mean scoliosis?

She, as always, was right.

I hope that gave you all a little chuckle during these tough times.

What isn’t a laughing matter is the rise of COVID-19 cases in Escambia County.

According to the Alabama Department of Public Health’s COVID-19 dashboard hub, the risk in the county is very high risk. This means that the number of cases is staying the same or is increasing. The latest virus numbers indicate that in the last 14 days, 135 confirmed cases were reported. Nine-hundred-and-seventy-two were tested.

With this said, I encourage you to go out and get your vaccine.

Back when I was in grade school, we’d have to stand in line to get vaccinated from the measles.

As youngsters, we didn’t question it, but it was the right thing to do.

Don’t wait any longer, and do the right thing: get vaccinated against COVID-19.
