Edward Farrar Barnett Sr., 73, passed away on July 27, 2021 in Pensacola, Fla.

He was born on May 8, 1948 in Atmore to the late Elbert “Ned” and Ethel Prestwood Barnett.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Preston Barnett and Glenn Barnett; and nephew, Miles Bridgman.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Carol Gwen Owens Barnett; his son, Edward Farrar Barnett Jr. of Atmore; his daughter, Leigh (John Murray) Ikner of Huxford; his brother, Jimmy (Kathy) Barnett of Uriah; his sisters, Beverly (Johnny) Sanslow of Bristol, Va. and Sally (Bill) Bridgman of Atmore; five grandchildren, Morgan, Cowen, Sophia, Emeri and Mattox; as well as numerous nephews and nieces.

Funeral service was held on July 30, 2021 at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Cornelius Phillips officiating.  Interment followed at Oak Hill Cemetery in Atmore, AL.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Pilots For Christ or charity of your choice.
