The Escambia County Board of Education accepted the signed contract today from Michele McClung to take the position as the system’s next superintendent of education for the county.

ECSS Attorney Broox Garrett presented the board with the signed contract from McClung for acceptance.

“This is the same contract that we sent out and that you received,” Garrett told the board. “We received this at about 3 o’clock.”

Since board members had previously reviewed and approved the contract before presentation to McClung early this week, there was no discussion on the matter. The approval/acceptance of the contract was approved unanimously by the board.

The contract is to be effective September 2, 2021.
