Mr. Gregory Wayne Pierce, 63, of Atmore answered the master’s call on Sun., Aug. 15, 2021 at his residence surrounded by his family.

A native of Atmore, Mr. Pierce was retired from the Alabama Department of Corrections with more than 24 years of service. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ardie Mae Pierce and Walter Edward Pierce; a son, Adrain Johnson; and a brother, Michael Pierce.

Those left to cherish memories of his life are his wife, Luverne Pierce of Atmore; his children, Patrick Pierce of California, Brandon Jackson, Courtney Jackson, Natashia (Angelo) Phifer and Charelle Jackson, all of Century, Fla., Wayne Austin of Pensacola, Fla., Laquasha (Michael) Thomas and Cedric Pierce of Atmore; a brother, Ronnie (Helen) Pierce of Foley; two sisters, Shelia Purdie of Enterprise and Ericka Pierce of Loxley; 28 grandchildren; an uncle, Arthur (Twyla) Pierce; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws; and special friend, Margie Rogers.

Funeral service was held on Aug. 21, 2021 at 1 p.m. at Grace Fellowship Church with the Rev. Michael Arnold officiating. Inhumation was in Lucious Cemetery with Turner Funeral Chapel directing.
