City approves Medstar lease

Tha Atmore City Council approved a lease with Lifeguard (Medstar) Ambulance Service for the use of the old fire station on Pensacola Avenue during its meeting on Sept. 13.

Medstar began service on Sept. 1, and the lease is to house ambulances and a crew.

In other business, the council:

• adopted resolution 2021-19 for a boxcar block on Ridgeley Street. The block will be located behind Anchor Café. Instead of a gazebo, there will be a box car with a stage. The parking amound will not change.

• approved the Yellow Hat Society’s food drive at the Farmer’s Market on Wed., Sept. 22, at 10 a.m.;

• approved the demolition of a substandard structure at 69 Martin St.; and,

• approved the city’s observance of Halloween on Sat., Oct. 30, from 5-8 p.m.
