Douglas M. McGhee, 79, a resident of Spanish Fort, passed away on Sat., Sept. 11, 2021.

Douglas served in the United States military with the Army. He loved his family and would always participate in his grandchildren’s events. He was also an avid Alabama football fan — “Roll Tide Roll!”

He is preceded in death by his parents, Norvie Lee and Gladys McGhee; brothers, Norvie Lee McGhee Jr., Earlie McGhee and Cecil McGhee; and sisters, Louise Turner, Betty Jean McVey and Hazel Albritton.

Douglas is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Linda Andrews McGhee; sons, Brian Douglas McGhee and Jason Ryan McGhee (Jerusha); grandchildren, Jade McGhee, Virginia Ann McGhee, Winston Douglas McGhee and Jason “JJ” McGhee; brothers, Ronnie McGhee and Huey McGhee (Terrie); sister, Eloise Ramer; and many other loving relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. tomorrow, Thurs., Sept. 23, 2021 at the Daphne Chapel of Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Homes. Funeral services will take place at 1 p.m. on Sept. 24 also at the Daphne Chapel.

Interment to follow at Alabama State Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery.
