ALEA: I-65 southbound closed near Atmore exit due to crash

Interstate 65 near the 57 mile marker in Atmore is closed after a two-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 8:28 tonight, Sun., Sept. 26, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

“The southbound lane of Interstate 65 near the 57 mile marker in Escambia County is currently shutdown because of the crash,” Cpl. Jeremy Burkett said in a release. “Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division are currently on scene investigating and assisting with traffic control. ALEA Troopers will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates accordingly.”
