It’s no secret that Atmore was lacking a men’s apparel shop.

That changed Oct. 7 as Trace Patrick Apparel, the city of Atmore’s first men’s apparel shop, held a soft opening.

Located inside of Cotton + Co on Ridgeley Street, the new apparel shop features casual men’s apparel, including T-shirts, caps and other accessories. The new shop held its grand opening on Oct. 8.

Owner Hunter Moseley said the origin of Trace Patrick Apparel came along when he realized that Atmore was lacking a men’s clothing store.

“It’s been a thing the last couple of years that I’ve seen the need for,” Moseley said. “I always have to travel out of town to Malbis and Daphne (to purchase men’s clothing). I thought it would be nice to be able to offer men’s clothing to men in Atmore and surrounding areas.”

The Atmore native added that he thought it was a good idea to invest in the city he grew up in, and hopes to bring more people in the city.

Moseley said he is selling State Traditions T-shirts, Fieldstone apparel, his own line of Trace Patrick Apparel T-shirts, hapy socks, shaving accessores and stickers, to name a few. He added that he’s hoping to add more items in the future.

“I’m very excited to get it going and very honored to have (Cotton + Co Owner) Mallorie Shirley offer me space in her beautiful store,” he said. “I can’ thank her and Steve Shirley enough to give me an opportunity to give me a space to bring Trace Patrick Apparel to live in.”

Moseley said the shop’s name has special meaning for him as well.

“My cousin (Jackson Singleton) and I thought about opening a store in town since we were kids,” Moseley said. “The name is spun off of our middle names. His is Jackson Trace and I’m Hunter Patrick. We just combined the name. I wanted it to be something that’s sentimental to me. Family is very important to me.”

The shop’s hours of operation are from Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. until 5:30 p.m., and Saturday’s from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
