Escambia County’s varsity volleyball team will compete in the AHSAA Class 4A, Area 1 tournament this Sat., Oct. 16 at St. Michael Catholic.

The Lady Blue Devils enter the tournament as the No. 3 seed, and will face W.S. Neal in the semifinals at 10 a.m.

A win in the first round gives ECHS two guaranteed matches – one in the area tournament championship and the other in the first round of the Super Regional.

On the other side of the bracket, Vigor, the No. 4 seed, faces St. Michael.

In other county volleyball action, T.R. Miller is hosting the Class 3A, Area 2 tournament.

Flomaton faces Hillcrest-Evergreen in the semifinals today at 3.

The championship is slated for 4:15 p.m. tomorrow.

Escambia Academy begins regional play on Oct. 21.
