Chamber announces window, car, artists awards

Atmore Area Chamber of Commerce officials Oct. 26 announced the winners of contests held recently.

The winners of the window decorating contest included Hawt Mess Boutique, first place; Atmore Flower Shop, second place; and The Philanthropic Seed, third place.

During Williams Station Day, the Cruisers’ Unilimated Car show was held.

Visitors voted on what they thought was the best car. The winners were Cyrus White, 1955 F-100, first place; Rick Ashcraft, 1969 Camaro, second place; Rex McKinley, 1963 Impala, third place; Freddie Fails, 1964 F-100, fourth place; Jay Norenberg, 1970 Chevelle, fifth place; Kelvin Dillard, 1968 Camaro, sixth place; Jerry Shepard, 1939 Chevy, seventh place; Anna and PeeWe Powell, 1966 Panel Van, eighth place; Ray Rolin, 2010 Camaro, ninth place; and Brian Montford, 1970 Camaro, 10th place.

The juried artist competition winners included A Different Window by Kenneth J. Smith, best in show; Chatham Knives by Mike Chatham, first place; Jim Gay Pottery by Jim Gay, patron’s choice; Drusilla Stacks, award of merit; Gay, award of merit; and John Eddins Potter by John Eddins, award of merit.
