ECHS boys fall in close game against Cottage Hill

Cottage Hill beat Escambia County 68-65 in a close game Thursday night in Atmore.

The first half saw both teams go back and forth throughout with each answering with single-digit leads.

Sheldon Williams led ECHS with 20 points, three rebounds, three assists, two steals, one block and a charge; Stephen Williams had a double double 13 points and 11 rebounds with one assist, one steal and two blocks; and Conner McPherson had 18 points, four rebounds, four assists, three steals and two blocks.

Hakeem Johnson added eight points, six rebounds and three assists in the effort.

Additionally, Terrence McNeil Jr. contributed with six points, four rebounds, three assists and three steals.

In girls action, the Lady Blue Devils won 44-31.

In earlier action this week, the Blue Devils (3-1) defeated Mary Montgomery on Tuesday.

The Blue Devils travel tonight to play B.C. Rain.
