Daughters of American Revolution names Good Citizens

The Fort Mims Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution announced its DAR Good Citizens from three area high schools.

The DAR Good Citizens are Jamison Janes from Escambia Academy, JyKeria DeAsia Wilson from Escambia County High School and MacKenzie Morrison from Flomaton High School.

The DAR Good Citizens were eligible to participate in the National DAR Scholarship Content, which included background information in school and community and an essay, according to a release. All three citizens participated in the scholarship competition.

One chapter winner’s package from each chapter could be selected to advance to district to compete with entries from Baldwin and Mobile Counties. The district winner advances to the state championship, and the state winner goes to the national competition.

Morrison was selected as the Fort Mims Chapter NSDAR winner.
