Blue Devils rise to No. 2 in latest poll

Escambia County’s boys basketball team moved up one spot in the Alabama Sports Writers Association Class 4A poll, which was released today.
The No. 2 Blue Devils improved to 10-2 overall after beating T.R. Miller, W.S. Neal and Flomaton twice, all by double digits since Dec. 7.
ECHS faces No. 6 Hillcrest-Evergreen tonight. First tip is slated for 7:30 p.m.
In the girls poll, T.R. Miller is No. 7, and ECHS was nominated in the 4A poll at 11-1.
In the AISA poll, Escambia Academy is ranked No. 8 after beating Central Christian twice by single digits; beating Northview, Fla. 64-49; losing to Central by single digits; and losing to Oak Park Christian by double figures.
The next poll will be released in early January.
