Escambia County’s boys basketball team remains at No. 2 in Class 4A, and Escambia Academy jumped up five spots in the AISA on the Alabama Sports Writers Association basketball poll, which was released today.

Since the last poll, the Blue Devils defeated Williamson 59-39 and St. Michael 44-21.

EA beat Wilcox Academy 46-44, and notched wins over Sparta and Lowndes.

In Class 3A, Opp is ranked No. 10 at 14-5 overall; and Red Level is No. 8 in Class 1A at 17-6.

Straughn was nominated in Class 4A but not ranked.

In the girls poll, T.R. Miller is No. 6 at 13-4 in Class 3A.

Escambia County’s girls were nominated but not ranked.
