Three finished in double figures as Escambia Academy defeated Sparta 54-32 in area action Thursday night in Evergreen.

With the victory, the No. 5 Cougars improve to 11-4 overall, and 4-1 in AISA Class 2A, Region 1 play.

EA plays Lowndes Academy next Tues., Jan. 25, to close out regular-season area play.

Landon Sims led EA with 17 points, Bubba Nettles added 11 and Cameron Ball chipped in 10 in the win.

Sims and Nettles added eight and seven rebounds, respectively.

The Cougars led 19-3 after the first period and 33-10 at halftime.
