CACC offering CNA class on Atmore campus this spring

Coastal Alabama’s Workforce Development officials announced recently that start of a CNA class on the Atmore campus this spring.

According to a release, orientation will be held on Thurs., April 7 at 9 a.m. with prior registration required.

The class will run from April 7 through May 24, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

According to CACC officials, the course fulfills the 75-hour Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (OBRA) requirements for training of long-term care nursing assistants in preparation for certification through competency evaluation. Emphasis is placed on the development of the knowledge, attitudes and skills required of the long-term care nursing assistant. Upon completion of this course, the student should demonstrate satisfactory performance on written examinations and clinical skills. Students must be 18 years old before going to clinical.

Cost of the course is $690 with the exam cost at $75.
