The Atmore City Council adopted a proclamation naming March 27, 2022 to April 2, 2022 as Vietnam Veterans Week during its meeting on March 14.

Mayor Jim Staff read the proclamation, which members of the Atmore VFW Auxiliary No. 7016 accepted.

During the week, members of the auxiliary will be handing out yellow ribbons in honor of the veterans.

In other business, the city:

• approved the amendment of ordinance 02-2022 to move alcohol sales on off sale premises on Sundays from a 10 a.m. start time to a 5 a.m. start time; and,

• approved Minister Brandon Tanner’s use of Houston Avery Park for a youth church event on April 23, from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m.
