Escambia County Schools Superintendent Michele McClung announced today that all after-school activities will be canceled because of the threat of severe weather in the area.
“According to the National Weather Service in Mobile, there is a severe weather threat for Wednesday, March 30, with the potential of considerable wind damage, embedded fast-moving tornadoes, and severe thunderstorms for Southern Alabama and the Western Panhandle of Florida,” McClung said.
McClung said district officials will continue to monitor the weather conditions in collaboration with the local EMA and NWS of Mobile.
“At this time school will be in session on Thursday, March 31, and all regularly scheduled extracurricular events and activities are set to occur as planned,” she said.
Additionally, all ACAP Testing for fourth grade, sixth grade and special populations will be postponed to next week. More details to come on a rescheduled date/time.
