Escambia County EMD Director David Adams announced this afternoon there is still a threat of severe weather this evening and through tonight for Escambia County, Ala.

According to the National Weather Service in Mobile, there is a moderate risk (4 out of 5) for the entire area for severe weather through tonight.

“The main threats are considerable wind damage with winds up to 80 (miles per hour) possible and fast moving, embedded tornadoes (a strong tornado is possible),” Adams said. “This is a fast moving system and should exit the area by early tomorrow morning.”

Adams encouraged residents to have more than one way to receive warnings and alerts. Monitoring local TV and radio stations are good ways to stay informed. Be weather aware and watch for changing conditions and any warnings that may be issued.
