Potential severe weather headed toward area early Tuesday

Rain and storm chances will return early Tuesday with the potential for strong to severe thunderstorms, according to the National Weather Service.

Potential threats include damaging winds around 60 miles per hour, large hail and possible tornadoes.

According to the NWS, isolated severe storms may develop as early as 4 a.m. Tuesday morning, becoming more likely after 8 a.m. the same morning through 8 p.m..

The Escambia County, Ala. and Fla. areas are under a slight risk.

Dry weather prevails tonight into tomorrow with highs in the upper 70s and lower 80s. Temperatures will drop into the upper 40s to lower 50s tonight.
