Escambia County School System officials announced on their Facebook page that school will be held virtually tomorrow because of the threat of severe weather.
“The most recent forecast again shows potentially threatening weather in the Atmore, Flomaton and Brewton areas during the opening of school in the morning and potentially all day,” ECSS officials said. “The safe transportation of our students to school (and employees to work) is a priority. The Escambia County Public Schools covers 54.5 miles transporting students from one end of the county to another. While we value the impact of teaching and learning in a face-to-face format, we will be holding school virtually tomorrow. Employees should remain on standby and await instructions from your immediate supervisor.”
