Severe weather threat passes, slight chance of severe weather tomorrow

Escambia County EMA Director David Adams said the severe weather threat for today in the county has passed.

Adams said there is a slight chance of severe weather tomorrow afternoon and into the evening.

“This may bring isolated severe storms and possibly large hail,” he said.

*Impact 1 – Wednesday Severe Threat

  • WHAT: Isolated severe storms capable of producing large hail and localized damaging wind gusts.
  • WHEN: Wednesday afternoon into Wednesday evening.
  • WHERE: There is a Slight Risk across most of the region, with the exception of a Marginal Risk across parts of inland SE MS.
  • CONFIDENCE: Moderate confidence of strong to severe storms.

In addition, high surf at the beaches will gradually subside through tonight, but breakers at the coast will remain in the 3-4 ft range which will keep the rip current risk high through Thursday.
