Chris Walker is the city of Atmore’s new economic planner and grants writer.

Walker, the former vice president and managing director of the community facility lending program at United Bank, was introduced during the Atmore City Council meeting on Monday.

Walker thanked Mayor Jim Staff and the city council for the opportunity.

“In the coming weeks, I’ll be revealing a comprehensive strategy to help enhance social services, and to take advantage of state and federal funding,” Walker said.

Walker said through his office, he’ll also help bring awareness to different things happening in the city.

“Thanks again for the opportunity, and I will do my best,” he said.
