The Escambia County Board of Education convened in a special called meeting Monday to address several items throughout the county’s school system.

The board approved the expulsion of two students for the coming school term — one from Escambia County High School in Atmore and another from W.S. Neal High School in East Brewton.

The board following an executive session during Monday’s meeting did not divulge the reasons for the expulsions. Based on the board’s recommendation, the two students were expelled for a violation of the ECSS Board Policy Code of Conduct. Both students will be allowed to receive educational services through alternative/virtual school.
