High school senior girls from Escambia County will gather for the Distinguished Young Women of Escambia County program next Sat., July 30 at Flomaton High School.

Participants will compete for thousands in college scholarships and the opportunity to represent the county as the Distinguished Young Woman of Escambia County for 2023.

The program is open to the public and will begin at 6 p.m. Tickets will be available for presale from a contestant or board member for $15, and at the door for $20.

The 14 young women competing will be evaluated by a panel of five judges in the following categories: scholastics (25%), interview (25%), talent (20%), fitness (15%) and self-expression (15%).

The participant selected as the Distinguished Young Woman of Escambia County will advance to the state level at the Distinguished Young Woman of Alabama program held in Montgomery in January.
