Mrs. Edna Virginia Norris Emmons, 87, passed away on Mon., Sept. 5, 2022, in Jay, Fla.

She was born March 20, 1935 in Atmore and resided most of her life in Century, Fla. She is preceded in death by her parents, Kelon Augusta (Buna Elizabeth Hardee) Norris; husband, Joel Bernard Emmons; six brothers, Aris “Jr.” Norris, Howard Norris, AC Norris, Edgar Delano Norris, Joseph Carrol Norris and James Maurice Norris; and three sisters, Phariba Myra Lee Rogers, Betty Chisolm White and Martha June Miller.
She is survived by her two sons, Roger Emmons, of Century and Carl (Terry) Emmons, of Bratt, Fla.; one daughter, Charlotte (Dennis) Ard, of Enterprise; two brothers, the Rev. David (Peggy) Norris, of Salisbury, N.C. and Billy (Nancy) Norris, of Toronto, Canada; five grandchildren, Janice, James, Theresa, Michael and Garrett;0 five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A funeral service will be held this Sun., Sept. 11, 2022 at 3 p.m. at Beulah Chapel Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Tim Floyd and the Rev. David Norris officiating.
Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Sept. 11, 2022 from 2 p.m. until service time at Beulah Chapel Assembly of God Church.
Pallbearers will be Greg Enfinger, O’Neal Varner, Kenny Hammac, Reggie Carper, Gary Johnson and Keith Julian.
Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Homes LLC of Atmore is in charge of all arrangements.
