An Atmore woman has been arrested and charged with multiple counts of attempted murder Sept. 20, according to the Atmore Police Department.

Public Information Officer Sgt. Darrell McMann said in a release that the suspect, Brandie Patterson, 37, of Atmore, was transported to the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton.

McMann said at approximately 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday, APD officers responded to the 200 block of Patterson Street in reference to a disturbance over a parking space that ended with shots being fired.

McMann said Patterson began arguing with a neighbor and several of the neighbor’s friends in reference to parking when she ran into her apartment, retrieved her handgun, ran back outside and allegedly fired several times at the victims.

Patterson went into her apartment and was contacted by responding officers who took her into custody, McMann said.

McMann said officers recovered a 9 millimeter semi auto handgun that Patterson allegedly used. The victims were not injured.
