The annual Celebrity Waiter event was held Monday night at David’s Catfish House in Atmore.

The event was held as a fundraiser for Main Street Atmore and its projects.

Participants bought tickets to sit and dine at celebrity waiters’ tables. The waiters decorated some eight tables, and served diners shrimp, sausage, boiled potatoes and corn, along with drinks.

Main Street Atmore Executive Director Niki Becton gave a state of Main Street address, and recognized each of its four committees.

Becton said even though the COVID-19 pandemic made a big impact, the community stepped up and showed out.

Shawn Lassiter, Becca Smith, Mallorie Shirley, Jocelyn Drew, Sheilo Faircloth, Cindy Stacey, Shelia J. Williams, Vonda Bynum, Doris Knight, Vasaroy Johnson, Natalie Rodgers, Brandon Smith, Sharon Smith, Nancy Williams, Haley Huskey and Taylor Helton Lee served as waiters.

This year’s event was the first time it was held since the COVID-19 pandemic.
