Mr. Garvis Eugene Sells, 81, passed away on the morning of Oct. 13, 2022, at his home in Poarch.

He is preceded in death by his son, Alton Sells; parents and infant brother, Jason Sells; brothers, Dewitt and Harold Sells; and sister, Anna Bell.

He is survived by his wife, Catherine of 59 years; daughter, April Sells; his “suedo- grandchildren,” Thornton and Julia “Tootie” Sells and suedo- Sun PeeWee; brothers, Toney (Judy) Sells, Julius Nelson (Tonya) Sells and Jerry Dewayne (Sue) Sells; and one sister, Gloria Sells (Jerald) Krafta; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A funeral service was held on Oct. 18, 2022 at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home, LLC with the Rev. Dale Aplin officiating.

Burial followed at Judson Creek Indian Cemetery.

Visitation was held on Oct. 17, 2022 at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Homes LLC.

Pallbearers were Dinky Jackson, Don Jackson, Julius Sells, Jerry Sells, Toney Sells and Ronnie R. Jackson.

Honorary pallbearers were Ronnie Jay, Cleo McCants, Johnny Moore, Butch Chestang, George Chestang, Ricky Chestang, Elroy Chestang, Walter Lee Rolin, John Reed, Jamie Mondaca and Batman.

The family would like to thank Amy Gantt for helping us get through the last several days and to the community for their thoughts, prayers and food. A special thank you goes to the Poarch Creek Fire Department.
