Cecil Edward Ellis, 85, went to be with the Lord on Tues., Oct. 11, 2022.

While he will be missed by family and friends, all are grateful knowing he is in the loving arms of his Heavenly Father and his beloved wife of 64 years, Marilyn Caraway Ellis, who passed away July 28, 2020.

He was born to the late Cecil Jones Ellis and Esther Francis Barnett Ellis, on May 28,1937.

He is survived by his children, Kathy Ellis Trawick (Tony) of Lakeland, Fla., Rob Ellis (Sonya) of Atmore, David Ellis of Jacksonville, Fla. and Jill Ellis Tatum (Lance) of Montgomery; and a special niece, Mary Beth Hogan Keith (David) of Millbrook; grandchildren, Ryan Trawick (Kelley) of Lakeland, Rachel Ellis Lindell (Rob) of Bay Minette, Brittany Trawick of Lakeland, Blake Ellis of Jacksonville, Zachary Ellis of Jacksonville, Thad Tatum of Montgomery and Zoe Tatum of Montgomery; his great-grandchildren, Harper and Hudson Lindell and Teagan Grace Trawick; his great-niece, Emma Kate Keith; and great-nephews, Connor and Owen Keith, who lovingly referred to him as Pawpaw, and were considered the apple of his eye.

Although he will be missed, his humble, kind spirit will live on in the lives of all who know and love him.

Funeral service was held on Oct. 15, 2022 at Brooks Memorial Baptist Church in Atmore with long-time family friend the Rev. Bro. Doug Wood officiating. Interment followed in Serenity Gardens Cemetery on Airport Road/US 31 in Atmore.

Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
