Mr. Johnny Ray Burkett Sr., 64, passed away on Tues., Oct. 18, 2022, in Pensacola, Fla.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Comer Eugene (Lela Frances Bruce) Burkett; two brothers, Tommy Burkett and James Burkett; and one sister, Cindy Burkett.

He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Barbara Burkett, of Atmore; one son, Johnny Ray (Samantha) Burkett Jr., of Atmore; one daughter, Jennifer Karen Burkett (George Hughes) of Flomaton; four brothers, Gene (Mazie) Burkett, of Atmore, Floyd (Frances) Burkett, of Nokomis, Wayne (Diane) Burkett, of Atmore and Michael (Rainey) Burkett, of Atmore; four sisters, Ruby Sanspree, of Atmore, Francis Godwin, of Atmore, Claudia Powell, of Perdido and Shirley Boatwright, of Atmore; six grandchildren, Kinkade Hadley, Daniel Green, Bryson Burkett, John Hollis Denard, Marley Denard and Gillian Denard; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held on Oct. 22 at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home, LLC. with the Rev. Clarence Rolin officiating.

Burial followed at Serenity Gardens Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Floyd Burkett, Michael Burkett, Cynthia Scott, Kenny Boatwright, Dewayne Boatwright and Scottie Eugene Burkett.

Honorary pallbearers were Tommy Godwin, Stephen Burkett and Toby Jordan.

Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home LLC of Atmore was in charge of all arrangements.
