3 men die in two-vehicle crash in Flomaton Sunday afternoon

Three men died in a two-vehicle crash Sunday afternoon on Highway 31 near the 58-mile marker inside the Flomaton city limits, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

Sergeant Jeremy J. Burkett said in a release that Shannon P. Lucas, 48, of Flomaton, was fatally injured when the 2017 Dodge 1500 pickup he was driving collided head-on with the 2017 Ford Explorer, which was driving by Christopher P. Bell, 41, also of Flomaton.

Burkett said Alfreco Lett, 50, of Century, who was the passenger in the Dodge pickup, was fatally injured as well.

Both Lucas and Lett were not using a seat belt at the time of the crash, and were pronounced deceased at the scene, Burkett said.

Burkett added that Bell was also not using a seat belt at the time of the crash.

Troopers with ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division continues to investigate the crash.
