An Atmore woman died in a single-vehicle crash Nov. 20 on Booneville Road, approximately 8 miles northwest of Atmore, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

Sgt. Jeremy Burkett said in a release that Tara R. Nelson, 46, was fatally injured when the 2015 Kia Cadenza she was driving left the roadway, struck a tree and overturned.

Burkett said that Nelson was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash, and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Burkett said nothing further is available as troopers with ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
