McMann said when officers arrived on scene, they contacted an adult family member of the victim.

“The family member was preventing the suspect, Vinson McReynolds, 64, of Bay Minette, from leaving the scene,” McMann said.

McMann said the officers detained McReynolds and contacted the on-call investigator.

McReynolds was later transported to the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton.
