Risk level for severe thunderstorms in area Wednesday increased to ‘ehanced’

The risk level for severe thunderstorms to impact the area Wednesday afternoon and evening changed to enhanced, according to the Escambia County EMA.

Director David Adams said the main timeframe for severe thunderstorms remains Wednesday afternoon and night with the possibility there may be a few strong to severe storms late this morning across southeast Mississippi.

Adams said some lingering storms could also linger across part of the western Florida panhandle until after midnight Wednesday and into the early predawn hours of Thursday morning.
