Frank’s LaborDay Annual Balloon Rally (FLABR Fest) will be in Atmore for New Year’s Eve weekend, Dec. 29, 2022 to Jan. 2, 2023.

FLABR is a group of balloon pilots and crew members from around the southeast that love ballooning and enjoy getting together to share their passion with others, according to the group’s Facebook page.

There isn’t a schedule for the event, but officials said they’ll try to do a glow and tether rides New Year’s Eve evening at Rivercane on Highway 21.

Officials said there will also be some balloon pilots offering paid rides over the weekend, Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday mornings at dawn.

Those who are interested, private message the group and they’ll see about connecting those with an available pilot.

Additionally, group officials said they need volunteer crew members to help set up, chase and retrieve the balloons after their flight.

Officials said the sport is dependent on the weather, and plans are subject to change.
