EA basketball coach Jerome Webster said pressure defense from the start of the game was key.

“We had a lot of fast-break points for high-percentage shots,” Webster said. “The kids played great. They were really prepared for the game. South Choctaw was a good team. We relied on a lot of our pressure defense to advance.”

The Cougars have to wait and see who they’ll play in the first round of the playoffs as Wilcox Academy beat Snook Academy, forcing the Canoe School to be the No. 3 seed going into the playoffs. EA will play next Friday night on the road.
