ECHS plays Jackson Thursday night in area championship game

Three Escambia County Blue Devils finished in double figures in a 57-47 victory over T.R. Miller in a Class 4A, Area 2 Tournament semifinal Tuesday night in Jackson.

Jovaughnta Henderson led ECHS with 17 points, and seven rebounds; Stephen Williams added 14 points and eight rebounds; and Ha’Keem Johnson scored 12 points in the win.

With the victory, the Blue Devils (17-7) advance to face Jackson tomorrow night in the area championship. Tip off is at 6:30 p.m.

No matter the result of tomorrow night’s game, both teams advance to the Class 4A South Sub Regional next Tuesday in Montgomery at the Garrett Coliseum.

In girls action, ECHS fell to Jackson 57-43 in the semifinals, ending its season.
