Some 4,000 Escambia County residents were without power Thursday night for about 8 minutes after a tree fell and damaged a transmission structure and power poles, according to Alabama Power officials.

Beth Thomas, who is over Alabama Power’s Mobile division, which includes Atmore, Flomaton and Brewton, said Alabama Power was able to reroute power, restoring service to customers and subsequently make needed repairs.

PowerSouth Cooperative owns the transmission line. PowerSouth is the power supplier of Southern Pine Co-op.
