Atmore police officials said Friday the motive into the shooting death of a teenager Monday night is still under investigation.

A suspect was arrested and charged with murder after the alleged shooting after Atmore Police Department officers responded to Atmore Community Hospital Feb. 20 in reference to a report of a shooting.

Public Information Officer Sgt. Darrell McMann said the victim was under the age of 18, and was unresponsive upon being driven to the hospital by the suspect, who is also under the age of 18.

McMann said Friday that investigators have determined who was responsible, and arrested the individual responsible for the murder.

“Investigators are not searching for anyone else,” McMann added. “The details of the case will play out in court.”

The shooting occurred in a vehicle near an intersection on Carver Avenue, McMann said.
