McMann said the victim told the officer that she was allegedly cut with a knife by her boyfriend (Jenkins).

“The boyfriend told the victim he would kill her if she tried to leave and continued threatening her throughout the night,” McMann said.

McMann said while the officer was speaking with the victim, he noticed bruising around both sides of the victim’s neck.

“The victim told the officer that Jenkins grabbed her by the throat and choked her,” he said. “The victim also told the officer she couldn’t call the police because Jenkins took her phone. The victim left the residence when she realized Jenkins was sleeping.”
McMann said officers then contacted Jenkins at his residence on King Street.

McMann said the victim was transported by ambulance to the hospital, and Jenkins was transported to the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton.
