Escambia County’s varsity softball team defeated Monroe County 28-13 Thursday night at Tom Byrne Park.
The Lady Blue Devils scored nine runs in the first inning, 17 runs in the second and two runs in the third before the game was called due to the run rule.
Monroe County scored three runs in the first inning, nine runs in the second and one run in the third.
Escambia County’s Jakaiya Owens, T. Brown, D. Adams, N. Staples and Elizabeth Mitchelle had one hit each. Staples, Oens and Brown added two RBIs each.
