Mother Bessie Lee Brown was born on March 9, 1944, in Camden to Eddie Dortch and Rosie Lee Brown.

Brown laid down her cross to pick up her crown on March 7, 2023.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clarence Brown; one daughter, Patricia Brown; one sister, Nell Reel; and one grandson, Robert Kirk Jr.

Those who will forever cherish her loving memories and continue her legacy of love include her nine beautiful daughters, Debra Leslie, Gloria (Pastor Jimmie) Kyles, Linda Brown-Abner, Annie Bowens, Sherry Bowens, Sandra (Derrick) Montgomery, Paulette (Minister Arnold) Boben, Angela (Jose) Asberry and Felicia (Robert) Kirk Sr.; two wonderful sons, Clarence Brown Jr. and Derrick Brown; one daughter in law, Vera Mae Altman; a special niece, Yolanda Rabb Johnson-Etheridge; special friends, First Lady Jacqueline Etheridge, Catherine Jones,  Juanita Perdue, Ann Bynum and Gary Helton; 28 grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held this Sat., March 18, at 1 p.m. at Empowerment Tabernacle Christian Center in Atmore with Bishop Catadro North and Lady Kimberly North as host pastors; Apostle Charlie Etheridge as messenger of strength; and North as presider.

Entrustments have been made to Mayberry Funeral Home of Atmore.
