Atmore woman arrested March 8 for domestic violence

An Atmore woman was arrested March 8 on domestic violence and assault charges, according to officials.

Atmore Police Public Information Officer Sgt. Darrell McMann said in a release that Amber Russell, 25, of Atmore, was arrested and charged with domestic violence I and III.

McMann said at approximately 9:10 p.m. on March 8, APD officers responded to a residence on Bream Street in reference to a domestic violence complaint.

McMann said the victim’s ex-girlfriend, Russell, allegedly went to the residence to confront the victim when she entered the residence and began fighting with the victim.

“The victim had scratches to his arms, chest, face and neck,” McMann said.

Russell was then transported to the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton.
