Chiefs beat J.U. Blacksher 4-0, 7-3 in twinbill

Northview defeated J.U. Blacksher 4-0, 7-3 in double header action today in Bratt, Fla.

With the victories, the Chiefs improve to 11-4 overall.

Northview’s Jamarkus Jefferson allowed three runs on three hits and struck out seven in 5.1 innings to earn the win on the mound.

Rustin Pope went 1-for-4 with two RBIs to lead the Chiefs. Kaden Odom, Luke Bridges, Josh Landis and Tyler Shaw had one hit each. Landis and Shaw added an RBI each in the victory.

Northview took an early lead in the night cap, and held on, scoring two runs in the first inning, one run each in the second, third and fourth innings and two in the sixth.

JUBHS scored two runs in the third inning and one run in the fifth.

NHS 4, JUBHS 0

Northview’s Cason Burkett threw a complete game shutout to help lead the Chiefs to the victory.

Burkett had seven strikeouts and allowed no runs on four hits.

Odom went 2-for-3 with two runs; Bridges, Pope and Jefferson had an RBI each. Ethan Collier had a hit in the win.

The Chiefs are back in action next Tues., April 4, against Escambia at home.
