McMann said the arrest occurred after an APD officer observed a four-wheeler being driven on the roadway at approximately 1:40 p.m. on April 6.

McMann said the officer stopped the four-wheeler and contacted the driver, Jones.

“While speaking with Jones, the officers discovered that Jones had an outstanding arrest warrant with the Escambia County (Ala.) Sheriffs Office in reference to a bond revocation,” McMann said. “Upon placing Jones under arrest, the officer discovered 23 grams of a green leafy substance that field tested positive for marijuana, a digital scale and a handgun.”

Jones was then transported to the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton.
