“He put a lot of his life in this community,” Staff said.

“His contributions were many,” Lassiter said.

Greater Mt. Triumph Baptist Church the Rev. Willie Hawthorne sang Bette Midler’s “Wind Beneath My Wings” in honor of Mosby.

District 2 Coucilmember Jerome Webster said it’s with great pleasure that the street dedication was held in memory of Mosby.

A proclamation was read for the dedication by City Clerk Becca Smith.

Mosby’s son, Daryl, said he was honored and humbled that the street dedication was named after his father.

“He was a good man,” Daryl said. “My father was civic minded and he loved the Lord. He truly loved Atmore.”
